President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the 30th anniversary of the World Congress of Tatars and the beginning of its 8th congress. This was reported on Monday by the Neytralny Turkmenistan official newspaper.
Berdimuhamedov noted that the World Congress of Tatars is of particular importance in preserving and developing the rich culture of the Tatar people, as well as bringing together representatives of Tatar communities around the world.
The president of Turkmenistan wished Minnikhanov good health, prosperity and success, and to Tatarstan - further progress and prosperity, the newspaper reported. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (upper house of the Turkmen parliament), also congratulated Minnikhanov on the 30th anniversary of the World Congress of Tatars.
Earlier, Turkmenistan noted the special nature of the country's interaction with this Russian region that has been developing in recent years. In April 2022, Minnikhanov paid a visit to Ashgabat, during which he congratulated Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his recent election, as well as took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the national holiday - the Turkmen Horse Day.
During his visit to Kazan in May this year, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that "due to our historical ties, Tatarstan takes a special place in the strategic partnership of Turkmenistan with the Russian Federation."
