The Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan has announced a contest to create a logo and a slogan for the celebrations of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria, which will take place in 2022, the press service of the organization told RIA Novosti.
"The purpose of the contest is to select and use as symbols the best brand ideas of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria, which reflect the main goals, objectives and content of the upcoming anniversary events. The brand idea means its concept, graphic image (logo) and verbal brand designation (slogan). According to the idea of the organizers of the contest, the brand should reflect that Russia with its rich and ancient history of Islam development on its territory is a part of the Muslim world", the muftiyat noted.
According to the press service, the contest will be all-Russian. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of nationality and religion.
Every year on May 21 Tatarstan celebrates the Day of the Adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria Empire. Large-scale celebrations to mark the anniversary are planned for 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier instructed the government and the leadership of Tatarstan to submit proposals for the celebration of the date.
