President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with the delegation from Palestine. The meeting took place at the House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Palestinian delegation arrived in Kazan as part of their visit to the Russian Federation.
At the meeting the parties discussed issues of interaction in the framework of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World", which has been headed by Rustam Minnikhanov since 2014.
The president of the Republic of Tatarstan stressed that among the main tasks of the GSV "Russia - Islamic World" is comprehensive assistance to the process of further rapprochement of Russia with the Islamic world on the cultural and civilizational basis, establishment of economic cooperation, expansion of interaction between youth and public organizations. "We are working closely within the Group. Our Palestinian colleagues are also taking an active part," Rustam Minnikhanov noted.
The president of Tatarstan added that the republic is actively cooperating with the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. This year Tatarstan celebrated the 1,100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
Also, the "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit" international economic summit is held annually in Kazan with the support of the OIC.
