Rustam Minnikhanov to be Inaugurated as Head of Tatarstan on September 19

Rustam Minnikhanov, the newly re-elected head of Tatarstan, will officially take office on September 19, the press service of the State Council of the republic announced.

 

The inauguration ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the Salikh Saydashev State Grand Concert Hall. The decision was made at a recent presidium meeting of the State Council.

 

On the same day, a session of the State Council will take place to approve the candidates for the Prime Minister of Tatarstan and his deputies.

 

According to the Central Election Commission of Tatarstan, 2,230,248 voters took part in the elections, representing 75.85% of the republic’s electorate. Minnikhanov, nominated by the United Russia party, received 88.09% of the votes. The Communist Party candidate Khafiz Mirgalimov garnered 4.97%, Vitaly Smirnov of the Russian Pensioners' Party for Social Justice got 1.90%, and LDPR's Ruslan Yusupov received 4.20%/
