Tatarstan delegation concludes 20 treaties and agreements during visit to Uzbekistan

Tatarstan delegation headed by the region's leader Rustam Minnikhanov signed 20 contracts and agreements during his working visit to Uzbekistan. This was reported yesterday by the press service of the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan.


"As a result of the visit, 20 different agreements aimed at strengthening inter-regional ties between the two countries were signed, including a road map for expanding cooperation between the khokimiyat (administration) of Tashkent and the government of Tatarstan for 2022-2023," the report reads. As part of the visit, Minnikhanov was received by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the republic. He also held talks with Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.


The head of Tatarstan took part in the ceremony of laying the first stone at the construction of chemical-industrial technopark "Chirchik" in the Tashkent region, which is created in cooperation with the Kazan technopolis "Himgrad". In this technopark, it is planned to organize the production of petrochemical and chemical products with high added value according to international quality standards. The technopark, which will be created with the participation of the Russian side, will have a developed engineering infrastructure, and its residents will be provided with significant tax preferences and full cooperation of the local authorities.


Earlier, it was reported that, despite the pandemic, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan is growing steadily, reaching $200 million in 2021. Uzbek companies are actively cooperating with Kamaz, Tatneft, Himgrad, KER-Holding and other flagships of the Russian economy.


In addition, as part of the visit, Minnikhanov met with representatives of the Tatar diaspora of Uzbekistan.
