Production of 2 thousand unmanned aerial vehicles per year will be organized in Tatarstan in the nearest three years. The devices are completely of domestic design developed by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic together with specialized organizations, said Vasily Shestyuk, Deputy Head of the Center of Circular Economy of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan, at the meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC "Tatneftekhiminvest-holding" on Monday.
"The Academy of Sciences has developed a large number of different unmanned aerial vehicles. These vehicles belong to both small, medium and heavy class. <...> These vehicles are used for various tasks, from logistics to research and to firefighting. What makes us different is that we have developed the whole chain - from manufacturing of propellers, motors, electrics and everything else," said Shestyuk.
He said that the matter concerns "Bars" UAV with high-speed characteristics and flight range, 15 kg, 300 kg and 1 ton capacity, "Letyaga" UAV for multiple payloads of 3.5 kg, and "Kuznechik" UAV with 50 kg, 300 kg and 1 ton capacity.
As Shestyuk told reporters, work is underway to organize production in the Laishevsky district of Tatarstan. "Now we need 12 hectares only for production area. <...> And then we will be able to produce medium, heavy machines of about 2 thousand a year. Literally we need to start within a year. <...> In the first year, of course, it will be less, but within three years we will produce more than 2 thousand machines in Tatarstan," said Shestyuk.
As Shestyuk specified in his report, the initial stage requires investments of about 1.4 billion rubles, 250 million rubles of which have already been attracted. "We are going into this production on our own, with our own financing. In other words, we have found it. But in the future, of course, we would like to ask for your support in organizing the production of both unmanned aerial vehicles and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene in order to tie the cycle," said Shestyuk, addressing the meeting participants.
