Victory parade will be held without an audience in Kazan

The solemn passage of the troops of the Kazan garrison in honor of Victory Day will take place in the capital of Tatarstan on June 24 without spectators, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Leila Fazleeva said.


A number of regions have restricted activities related to the Victory day parade on June 24 due to the difficult sanitary and epidemiological situation with the coronavirus.


"We are not talking about a parade, but about the solemn passage of the troops of the Kazan garrison... The audience is not invited to this event, as it traditionally was," Fazleeva said.


According to her information, one of the local TV channels will show the broadcast of the solemn event. The fireworks on this day in Kazan are not provided. Fazleeva clarified that in accordance with the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, veterans will be able to attend the ceremonial passage of the troops of the Kazan garrison. For them, the formation of spectator seats in special stands is provided with the observance of the distance and all the measures provided, including face masks and gloves.


Also, according to Deputy Prime Minister, masks and gloves and all the participants of the solemn passing – servicemen of Kazan garrison, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Emergency situations, cadets of military schools, representatives of law enforcement agencies, Prosecutor's office of the Republic. This year the event is attended participants of the Young Army. Only one rehearsal will be held on June 20, and on the eve of the rehearsal, and before the ceremony itself, disinfection treatments will be carried out on the territory of the event.


In addition to the passage of the walking column, the passage of a mechanized column will take place, in which 40 units of historical military equipment will take part. In particular, according to Fazleeva, the legendary T-34 "Kolkhoznik Tatarii" tank will pass, which was named after a tank column of 200 tanks handed over by the workers of Tatarstan to the front in 1943.


The Deputy Prime Minister added that similar events were not planned in other cities and municipal districts of the Republic.
