Afghanistan will present a range of its products at a special exhibition during the 16th International Economic Forum “Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum,” which will be held in Kazan this May. The announcement was made by Pavel Kalmychek, Director of the Department for Bilateral Cooperation at Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, during a TASS press conference.
“The government of Tatarstan has agreed to provide space for an exhibition of Afghan goods. I believe this will spark significant interest—especially in light of recent developments regarding the removal of the Taliban from the list,” Kalmychek said.
Earlier, Russia’s Supreme Court granted a motion by the Prosecutor General to suspend the ban on the Taliban’s activities in Russia, with the ruling taking immediate effect.
On the sidelines of KazanForum, a large-scale Russia-Afghanistan business forum will also take place. According to Zamir Kabulov, Special Representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan and Advisor to the Foreign Minister, the Russian delegation will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, while the Afghan side is expected to participate at a high governmental and business level.
