Kazakhstan's Air Astana has transferred maintenance of its aircraft from Russia to Kazakhstan, the company's press service told TASS on Tuesday.
"Due to the fact that flights to the Russian Federation, where C-check (type of comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the aircraft - TASS) were suspended, Air Astana carries out such work independently at its base in the airport of Nur-Sultan. The airline is certified by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) to perform such a considerable level of maintenance. Earlier, this form of maintenance was included into the plans to develop the aviation technical center of the airline," the company informed.
Earlier, Air Astana had carried out С-check type maintenance of aircraft in Novosibirsk.
On March 11, Air Astana reported that it suspends flights to Russia and over its territory for the reason of termination of insurance coverage for commercial flights to and from Russia.
