Cans of soft drinks labeled "Gaza" and "Palestine" have recently appeared for sale in a bakery at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz metro station, as reported by the newspaper Bild. According to the manufacturers, profits from these sales are intended to support Palestinians in need. Each can is priced at €1.80. The beverages are also available online from brands Palestine Drinks and Gaza Drinks, owned by Swedish companies Safad Food AB and FS.L Food AB.
Bild notes that Palestine Drinks has promoted the controversial slogan "from the river to the sea" online, which is banned in Germany for its association with calls for the elimination of Israel. Both brands claim on their websites that they donate a significant portion of their profits to aid Palestinian communities in need. Former Bundestag member Volker Beck from the Green Party commented, "Raising funds for Palestinians in need is generally not an issue. However, when it is combined with calls for destruction, it certainly becomes problematic."
