The Caspian "Five" nations—Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan—have the potential to act as balancing energy suppliers, meeting each other’s energy needs while ensuring stability in the market. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk at the third Caspian Economic Forum.
"One of our key joint priorities is to ensure energy security and uninterrupted exports based on mutual benefits. First and foremost, we propose meeting each other’s energy demands. The Caspian 'Five' can play a crucial role in stabilizing energy supply during seasonal fluctuations in demand and supply, including fulfilling export commitments. It is essential to implement joint projects for the development of oil and gas fields in the region," Overchuk emphasized.
