Central Bank announces that Mir card will be accepted in four more countries

Mir payment system cards may soon be accepted in four more countries. This was announced to reporters by First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Olga Skorobogatova on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, without specifying the countries in question.


"We have good news. In addition to the 10 countries that now accept [Mir cards], we have four new countries on the agenda. I can't say the names, but literally in the last two months two countries have been added (two plus two makes four). We hope that in the near future you will see them, recognize them," said Skorobogatova.


Currently, Mir cards are accepted in 10 foreign countries where you can withdraw cash and pay for purchases in the devices of major banks: Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
