Direct Flights Between Yekaterinburg and Issyk-Kul to Launch in June

13 March

Direct flights between Yekaterinburg and Issyk-Kul Airport, near the resort village of Tamchy in Kyrgyzstan, will commence in June. Negotiations on this route will take place at the Summer-2025 international tourism exhibition in Yekaterinburg on April 3-4, according to Mikhail Maltsev, President of the Ural Tourism Association.

Issyk-Kul Lake is Kyrgyzstan’s premier health and resort destination, attracting over one million visitors annually, primarily from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

“We anticipate direct flights to the Tamchy resort in northern Issyk-Kul, in addition to the existing regular service to Bishkek. This will further enhance access to the Issyk-Kul region. We expect flights to begin in June,” Maltsev stated.

The route is expected to be officially announced in April, following negotiations at the tourism exhibition. “We anticipate the arrival of regional leaders and representatives from Kyrgyzstan's tourism sector,” he added.

Maltsev also highlighted the potential for direct year-round flights to Vietnam and discussions on possible flights from Yekaterinburg to Malaysia. This year, additional flights from Yekaterinburg to Yerevan, Armenia, will be introduced, while flights to Fergana, Uzbekistan, are under consideration.

“We expect more direct flights to China and an expansion of direct air service to Turkey beyond Istanbul and Antalya,” Maltsev said. He also mentioned preliminary discussions on launching flight programs to Indian cities.
