Erdogan: Turkey and Russia’s Relations in Trade, Tourism and Energy Continue to Grow

During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in China, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan highlighted the ongoing growth of Turkey-Russia relations grounded in mutual respect and shared interests.

 

“In the course of the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that the relationship between Turkey and Russia continues to develop on the basis of mutual respect and common interests, and that the spirit of cooperation inherited from the past endures in areas such as trade, tourism, investment and energy,” said a statement from Erdoğan’s office summarizing the talks with Putin.

 

The leaders also exchanged views on Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip and discussed the situation in Syria, emphasizing the need to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and political unity.

 

Additionally, Erdoğan expressed hope that negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will lead to lasting peace, and that stability in the Caucasus region will serve the mutual interests of both Turkey and Russia.
