First Regular Flight to Saudi Arabia to Depart from Makhachkala on December 3

21 November

The first regular flight from Makhachkala to Saudi Arabia will be operated by Russian carrier Azimuth Airlines on December 3, according to the Russian Ministry of Transport.

"The inaugural regular flight to Saudi Arabia will depart from Makhachkala on December 3. Starting December, Azimuth Airlines will operate twice-weekly flights on the Makhachkala-Jeddah route and weekly flights from Mineralnye Vody to Jeddah," the ministry announced.

Flight duration will be approximately 4 to 4.5 hours.

In partnership with National Hajj Company LLC, the airline will provide passengers with access to Muslim holy sites. Flight schedules and ticket purchases are available through the airline's website.

Since 2023, the Russian Ministry of Transport and Federal Air Transport Agency have been working to establish air services to Saudi Arabia. The launch of flights results from coordinated efforts between regulators, the airline, Russia's Hajj Mission, and aviation authorities of the foreign state.
