Gref Names UAE's Mubadala as Sberbank's Largest Foreign Shareholder

01 October

The sovereign investment fund of the United Arab Emirates, Mubadala Investment Company, is the largest foreign shareholder of Sberbank, the bank's CEO Herman Gref announced to journalists on the sidelines of the Moscow Startup Summit.

“Our single largest foreign shareholder is the Mubadala fund from the United Arab Emirates. We are very grateful to them for remaining our investors. I hope they have not regretted—and never will regret—their investment in us, as Sber is growing very dynamically,” Gref stated.

The controlling stake of Sberbank remains with the Russian government, which holds 50% plus one share of the bank's authorized capital.
