Technopolis Khimgrad of Tatarstan has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the administration of Kazakhstan’s Atyrau region, including plans to explore the development of industrial parks, Khimgrad CEO Ayrat Gizzatullin told TASS at the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum.
“We see real potential for small business development and for strengthening our Russian presence in Kazakhstan. That’s why we signed a memorandum with the Atyrau regional administration—to look into jointly working on the creation and growth of industrial parks. This market has clear prospects, and there’s strong interest from our partners as well as a favorable geographic position,” said Gizzatullin.
He noted that Khimgrad already has international experience, including partnerships in Uzbekistan with the Chirchik chemical industry technopark and the Jizzakh technopark. “Kazakhstan is definitely a rapidly developing country and market, and it’s very closely aligned with us both technologically and industrially. Many major Russian companies are already working with Kazakhstan,” the CEO commented.
Gizzatullin added that the exact format of future projects is still undecided. “Kazakhstan’s market is well-developed, with numerous infrastructure projects, free economic zones, technoparks, and industrial parks for small business already in operation. However, we believe our experience in Uzbekistan and Russia can provide added value to the projects our colleagues are pursuing in Atyrau,” he said.
