Indonesia's state oil and gas corporation Pertamina is considering buying crude oil from Russia. This was reported Tuesday by news portal Detik, citing company head Niki Widivati.

"Against the backdrop of the current geopolitical situation and tensions, we see good opportunities to buy Russian oil at good prices," the Pertamina head pointed out.

The head of the company "does not see any problems from a political point of view as long as [the Russian] partner is not under sanctions:. In addition, she said, "possible payment schemes, including through India, are being discussed." At the same time Nicky Vidivati did not specify which company from Russia is a partner of Pertamina.

Pertamina is the third largest producer of crude oil in Indonesia, after ExxonMobil and Chevron.
