The International Economic Forum of CIS Member States, titled "35 Years of the CIS: Developing the Greater Eurasian Partnership," will take place in Moscow on April 3, 2026. Organizers of the event informed TASS that the forum will serve as a major platform for discussing regional integration.
The event will feature the participation of the secretaries general of the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Other high-level attendees include the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEU), the State Secretary of the Union State, and deputy prime ministers who are members of the CIS Economic Council. Representatives from government agencies, ministries of economic development, finance, industry, and trade, as well as experts, banking executives, and international partners, will also be in attendance.
During the plenary session, participants plan to highlight the development of cooperation in the "CIS+" format, the shaping of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, and the expansion of interregional economic ties. Thematic sessions will focus on a wide range of issues, including the distribution of water resources, Arctic development, the implementation of artificial intelligence, and the growth of the creative economy and culture. Discussions will also cover investment projects, financing mechanisms, and settlements within the CIS and SCO, alongside current topics in construction, standardization, and technical regulation.
With 2026 declared the Year of Healthcare in the CIS, the forum will dedicate special attention to next-generation medicine, pharmaceuticals, and health-saving technologies. Additionally, as Turkmenistan holds the CIS chairmanship this year, the agenda will emphasize neutrality, trust, transport connectivity, ecology, sustainable development, and digital transformation. These priorities are expected to strengthen integration and create new opportunities for the business community.
The forum is organized by the CIS Business Center for Economic Development with the support of the CIS Executive Committee. TASS serves as the general information partner for the event.
