Ulyanovsk will host the International Islamic Business Forum, the Islamic Forum, for the first time on July 27. This was announced in a press release from the regional government.
"The International Islamic Business Forum, the Islamic Forum, will be held in Ulyanovsk region on July 27," the statement noted.
The main theme of the forum will be strengthening foreign trade and cooperation with Islamic countries and developing the Halal industry.
Among the guests expected at the forum are Marat Kabaev, President of the International Association of Islamic Business, Yousef Hasan Khalawi, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, Saleh Lootah, Chairman of the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Association, and CEO of the International Islamic Food Processing Association. Representatives from Bahrain, Malaysia, the UAE, Oman, and other countries are also invited.
The event's program includes specialized sessions on business finance, business education, state support, and new logistics solutions. Experts will also discuss the prospects of Halal products in Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), ethics in Islamic business, and foreign trade with OIC countries. The key event will be a plenary session focusing on the main trends in cooperation with Islamic countries.
According to Ruslan Gainetdinov, head of the regional "My Business" center, which supports the forum, Islamic countries are important trade partners for the region. "They occupy almost the entire top 10 in terms of Ulyanovsk exports. This is particularly due to the large-scale logistics project 'Middle Volga - Caspian Sea - Persian Gulf' initiated by [Ulyanovsk region] Governor Alexey Russkikh. We are expanding our presence with dealership centers now operating in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan," Gainetdinov said in the statement.
