Iranian Oil Minister Expresses Optimism for Enhanced Energy Cooperation with Russia

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji expressed optimism regarding the expansion of cooperation with Russia in the energy sector during a meeting in Tehran of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Iran.

 

According to Iran's Shana news agency, Owji underscored the significance of collaboration between Iran and Russia in the oil and gas industry, expressing hope for the broadening of interactions between the two nations. The intergovernmental commission meeting focused on reviewing past endeavors and outlining future cooperation across various sectors.

 

Chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, the intergovernmental commission meeting convened on February 28.

 

Novak informed TASS on February 23 that Russian and Iranian companies are engaged in negotiations regarding the establishment of a gas hub in Iran and the development of gas fields. These topics were slated for discussion during the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
