The Iranian greenhouse complex Aras Tarla, the largest in the Middle East, exports approximately 90% of its produce to Russia, main investor Haj Mahmoud Ebrahimi told TASS.
“Russia is our largest client; we export about 90% of our products. We work with several Russian companies. The Magnit retail chain is also one of our clients. Since the beginning of this year, around 45 thousand tons of products have been shipped to Russia, including peppers, tomatoes, and eggplants. Most exports go to Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, and Moscow,” Ebrahimi said.
The greenhouse spans about 240 hectares and contains roughly 150 glass greenhouses equipped with modern hydroponic systems. The company is launching new projects to cultivate crops such as blueberries, bananas, and pitahaya, which are not yet part of the export portfolio but are planned to increase future shipments abroad.
More than 95% of all exports go to Russia, with the remainder distributed to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. While there are plans to increase deliveries to Europe, these remain insignificant so far, Ebrahimi noted.
