Kazakh Prime Minister and Chernyshenko Discuss Cooperation in Digitalization

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov met in Astana with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko to discuss cooperation in digitalization and innovation, the Kazakh government press service reported.

 

“Attention was given to bilateral cooperation in digitalization and innovation, sports, tourism, and education. The participants emphasized that stable economic and cultural-humanitarian ties have been built thanks to the trusting dialogue and regular contacts between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin,” the statement said.

 

It was noted that bilateral relations are developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. “From January to June 2025, mutual trade turnover amounted to $12 billion. At the instruction of the two heads of state, systematic work is underway to increase mutual trade to $30 billion,” the press service clarified.

 

During Chernyshenko’s visit, he is expected to familiarize himself with the work of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the Kazakh branches of Moscow State University and MGIMO.
