Kazakhstan Aims to Complete First Nuclear Power Plant by 2035–2036

16 June

Kazakhstan plans to complete the construction of its first nuclear power plant (NPP) by 2035–2036, with Russia’s Rosatom acting as the lead member of the project consortium. This timeline was confirmed by the country’s Atomic Energy Agency, according to a statement released to the media.

“Global experience shows that the full cycle—from design to construction and commissioning—takes approximately 10 to 12 years. Therefore, the estimated completion date is 2035–2036. Rosatom confirms its alignment with these plans,” the statement noted.
