Representatives of Russian Railways and the national company "Kazakhstan Railways" at a meeting in Moscow discussed the transportation volume on the transport corridor North - South until 2030. This was reported by the press service of KTZh.
"The key topic of the meeting was the main directions of development of transport corridors passing through the territory of Russia and Kazakhstan, coordination of transportation volumes along the eastern route of the international transport corridor North - South until 2030", - is stated in the message.
The parties also agreed to increase the volume of transportation from the republic to the Russian Federation and back by electronic consignment notes, "to improve the work on (transfer) exchange of trains on joints, the use of locomotive traction and digital interaction in the field of freight transportation."
In the first 11 months of 2023, the volume of freight traffic between Kazakhstan and Russia increased by 5.4% to more than 83.8 million tons.
