Kyrgyzstan Invites Major Russian Banks to Establish Branches in the Republic

10 July

Kyrgyzstan has extended an invitation to some of Russia's largest banks to open branches within the country. This announcement was made by Akylbek Zhaparov, the head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers and co-chairman of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on cooperation, during the 11th meeting in Krasnoyarsk.

"In light of our mutual goal to modernize the financial sector and increase the use of national currencies for settlements, we consider it crucial for major Russian state-owned banks, such as Sberbank, VTB, and Vnesheconombank, to participate in Kyrgyzstan's financial market. Specifically, we propose the establishment of branches of these banks within our republic," Zhaparov stated.
