The "Made in Russia" festival-fair will be held for the first time in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, from February 21 to 25 at Yas Bay Waterfront, the Russian Export Center (REC) announced. The event's central theme will highlight Mezen painting, one of the oldest folk art traditions from Russia's northern regions.
"The fair aims to showcase the industrial potential and the diversity of high-quality Russian products, while also introducing local residents to Russian culture," the REC stated.
At the event, Russian manufacturers will engage in business discussions with potential partners, including distributors, representatives from retail chains, the HoReCa sector, and industry associations. Participating industries will include building materials, timber and wood products, equipment, food products, perfumes, and cosmetics.
Fair visitors will have the opportunity to sample and purchase a variety of Russian-made goods, such as vegetable preserves, pastries, berry jams, pastila, baby food, dairy products, and snacks. Tastings and cooking workshops featuring traditional Arabic and Russian dishes made with Russian ingredients will be offered. Over 10 companies will showcase cosmetics, while souvenirs and clothing will also be available.
"The fair in Abu Dhabi will present a wide range of products, highlighting the capabilities of Russian agricultural and industrial producers. This event is not only about strengthening business ties between Russia and the UAE but also about fostering cultural exchange and bringing our people closer together," said Veronika Nikishina, CEO of REC.
The festival is organized by REC and the VEB.RF Group with the support of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the UAE Embassy in Russia. The "Made in Russia" national brand is promoted in collaboration with REC and the Roscongress Foundation.
