Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan stated that there are no problems with payments on securities floated in rubles

The authorities of Kazakhstan do not see any problems with repayment of securities, floated in rubles due to the alleged default in Russia, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubaev told reporters on Tuesday.


"When we place securities in Russia, the issuer is the Republic of Kazakhstan. We have no problems with the payment on our securities. What is happening in Russia, I can not comment. [On our securities], we do not expect any problems, " he said.


Earlier Bloomberg agency made a claim that Russia has defaulted on sovereign debt obligations. According to its information, the deadline for payment of $100 million on coupons expired on the night of June 27. According to the agency's version, if the investors do not receive the funds before the deadline, such a situation is considered a default. It also noted that such situation is observed for the first time since 1918.
