Mishustin Announces Implementation of EAEU–Iran Free Trade Agreement

11 December

The practical implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran has begun, with similar agreements also signed with the United Arab Emirates and Mongolia, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

“The practical implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with Iran has started. Agreements have also been signed with the United Arab Emirates and Mongolia,” Mishustin stated at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. He added that “the first round of negotiations with India was held at the end of November.”

The prime minister stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in building new, stable supply chains and promoting goods from EAEU member states on global markets.

Mishustin also highlighted the growing transport connectivity across the Eurasian region. “It is vital to accelerate the introduction of modern solutions, primarily to modernize logistics infrastructure and digitalize transport corridors,” he said.

According to the prime minister, adopting advanced technologies is essential not only to increase the capacity of existing routes but also to expand trade with non-EAEU countries.
