Mishustin Highlights Importance of Dialogue Between CIS Financial Regulators

29 September

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stressed the necessity of establishing dialogue between the financial regulators of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

“It is important to continue creating conditions for the expansion of foreign economic relations. Reliable payment and financial infrastructure in national currencies should be ensured. We must build an effective cross-border settlements system with international partners. Dialogue between our financial regulators is needed here—it will be a significant step toward achieving independence from international market fluctuations,” Mishustin stated at the restricted meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Minsk.

He further emphasized that, to strengthen technological sovereignty, it is necessary to develop cooperation between scientists and engineers from CIS countries, launch new high-demand projects, share best practices, and increase the level of research and development “to achieve world-class breakthrough results in fundamental fields.”

“This is the goal of the CIS Scientific and Technological Development Strategy, which we are adopting today. It will enable our countries to initiate new joint innovation projects and enhance their industrial competitiveness,” Mishustin said.
