Mishustin: Russia Prioritizes Economic Ties with Kazakhstan

21 April

Russia values its close, allied relationship with Kazakhstan and sees economic cooperation as a top priority, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during talks with his Kazakh counterpart Olzhas Bektenov.

“Kazakhstan is a key partner for Russia in the Eurasian region. We deeply value our fraternal, neighborly, and allied ties,” Mishustin stated.

He emphasized that both governments are working closely to implement decisions made by the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan, noting that strengthening trade and economic cooperation remains a major focus.

“Our intergovernmental commission is very active. We are committed to expanding interregional cooperation—around 70% of our mutual trade volume comes from direct regional partnerships,” Mishustin added.

He also highlighted ongoing collaboration in several areas, including peaceful nuclear energy, industry, high-tech development, and digital technologies.
