Mishustin: Russian Economy Has Withstood Sanctions and Continues to Grow

28 April

Around 30,000 sanctions have been imposed against Russia by its opponents, but the national economy has endured and continues to grow, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a lecture at the Znanie educational marathon.

“Our competitors are trying to slow down Russia's development, cutting off access to innovations and resources. Microelectronics, machinery and equipment, aircraft, medicines, and medical supplies — all have been targeted by restrictive measures, with about 30,000 sanctions imposed against our country. Yet despite all this, the Russian economy has held firm,” Mishustin emphasized.

He added that under the leadership of the President, the government implemented a comprehensive set of measures to support the economy. As a result, Russia's GDP is growing and, according to Mishustin, is significantly outpacing the growth rates of developed countries.
