Morocco is ready to host the annual assemblies of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This, as reported by the Maghreb Arab Press (MAP) news agency on Thursday, Minister of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform of the Kingdom, Nadia Fattah Alawi, said in Dubai.
She held a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. The parties discussed the organization of the assembly of the WB and the IMF, which will be held in the city of Marrakech in October 2023.
The event was supposed to take place in November 2020, but was postponed because of the coronavirus.
The WB and IMF assemblies are traditionally attended by finance and development ministers, central bank governors, private sector leaders, representatives of civil society and academia, and the media. They discuss issues of global interest, including the economic outlook, global financial stability, poverty eradication, inclusive economic growth, job creation, and climate change.
