One of the Largest Glass Plants in Russia to Export Products to Uzbekistan

30 May

Sibirskoye Steklo (Sibsteklo), part of RATM Holding and one of Russia's largest glass plants, has signed a contract with Carlsberg Uzbekistan to supply glass packaging for the Sarbast beer brand. According to the company's press release, the agreement includes exporting 5 million glass products to Uzbekistan over the course of a year.

“We are entering the Uzbek market because the capabilities of local glass plants are insufficient to meet the demand for brown containers from beverage producers,” said Anton Mor, General Director of Sibsteklo. He added that their glass complexes would start producing 0.5-liter bottles for Carlsberg Uzbekistan.

Sibsteklo, employing over 600 workers, is one of the largest glass factories in Russia. Its supply network spans regions from the Urals to the Far East, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia. Eduard Taran, President of RATM Holding, noted that Sibsteklo is currently the only enterprise outside the Urals that produces brown and green container glass, holding a 75% market share in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts.
