Overchuk discussed in Baku issues related to organization of Russian business mission in Azerbaijan

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk discussed with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Baku the organization of Russian business mission in the republic, the Russian government said in a statement posted on Tuesday.


"Within the framework of the visit, Alexei Overchuk was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, with whom he discussed issues of strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including cooperation in transport, agriculture and other spheres," the document said. - "In order to develop economic ties, issues of organizing Russian business missions to the Republic of Azerbaijan were discussed. Particular interest is shown to cooperation in the field of renewable energy, ecology, use of water resources, construction and development of transport infrastructure".


In addition, the parties considered prospects for the development of the international North-South transport corridor and improvement of the work of border checkpoints on the Russian-Azerbaijani border. "The issues related to the activities of the trilateral working group co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation were also touched upon," the statement reads.
