The Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA) has officially extended its recognition of halal certificates issued by Roskachestvo-Halal, a division of Russia’s Federal System for Quality Certification, Roskachestvo told TASS.
“The accreditation, first obtained in 2023, has been confirmed and extended until 2027. This decision marks a new stage in the development of bilateral cooperation and reflects Pakistan’s high level of trust in the standards and procedures of the Russian conformity assessment system,” Roskachestvo said in a statement.
According to the agency, the PHA’s decision underscores steady growth in Russian-Pakistani cooperation in the agri-food sector, including the rapidly expanding halal market. The renewal of the accreditation—rather than a new certification—confirms the reliability of the Russian system and its compliance with stringent international standards.
“The extension of recognition ensures uninterrupted access for Russian exporters in the medium term, removing uncertainty and allowing companies to confidently build long-term export strategies. Products certified by Roskachestvo-Halal will continue to be supplied to Pakistan without additional verification for compliance with local halal standards,” the agency added.
Roskachestvo stressed that the reaffirmed long-term status of simplified certification procedures creates stable conditions for further growth in bilateral trade. The renewal process was conducted routinely through official channels, with participation from the Russian Embassy in Islamabad.
The organization also explained that Pakistani authorities carried out a scheduled reassessment of the Russian halal certification system and confirmed its full compliance with Pakistan’s standards. The review, which lasted several months, followed standard international procedures.
“The successful completion of this process sends a clear signal to the market about the stability and transparency of Russia’s certification system. All certificates issued by Roskachestvo-Halal are entered into the Federal State Information System of Rosakkreditatsiya, ensuring public traceability and verification for consumers worldwide,” Roskachestvo noted.
