Pankin: Russia Cooperates Closely with Asian Countries on the Launch of Mir Cards

07 June

Russia is actively collaborating with Asian countries to introduce the Mir payment system, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin told TASS at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

“We are working with many Asian countries who are ready to cooperate despite the pressure,” Pankin said in response to inquiries about the prospects of launching Mir cards in the region.

Additionally, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin recently announced that Mir cards have started to circulate in Azerbaijan. He highlighted that this development significantly boosts tourism ties, allowing Mir cardholders to withdraw Azerbaijani manats from VTB ATMs.
