Russia is prepared to expand its exports of grain, meat, and confectionery products to the United Arab Emirates, according to a statement from the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.
"Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, and First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Maktoum bin Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum. The key topics of discussion were cooperation in agriculture and the financial-banking sector. <…> Our country is ready to increase supplies of grain, meat, and confectionery products to the UAE. Russia is actively developing the production and export of halal products that fully comply with UAE standards," the statement read.
The meeting also explored opportunities to enhance dialogue between the financial institutions of both countries.
"Relations between our nations are developing dynamically. We sincerely appreciate the constructive dialogue established across multiple areas. One of the key sectors is the agro-industrial complex. Last year, trade turnover in agricultural products and food between the two countries grew by almost a third. We expect this positive trend to continue in the current year," Patrushev noted in the statement.
