About the project

Aurus cars is a range of executive vehicles, which has been created since 2013 by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The NAMI Institute has developed most of the technical solutions for creating a line of Aurus cars. The starting point of the project was the need for a domestically produced limousine for the head of state. In the fall of 2013, the President of the Russian Federation signed an order to begin the development of the project to create and produce luxury cars based on the "Unified Modular Platform".

The project involves the development of a range of cars both to replace the fleet of official vehicles of public officials and for commercial sales. Aurus is the first Russian luxury car brand, whose lineup includes a limousine, a sedan, a minivan and an SUV.
