Russia and Kyrgyzstan’s strategic partnership continues to thrive, with economic cooperation at its core — and high technology taking on an increasingly prominent role in joint initiatives, President Vladimir Putin said in a message to participants of the 7th Russia–Kyrgyzstan Business Forum.
“Our relations are developing steadily in the spirit of strategic partnership and cooperation. Economic ties remain a vital component, with bilateral trade growing at a fast pace. Russia now ranks among the leading investors in the Kyrgyz economy,” Putin said in his message, which was read at the forum by Igor Maslov, head of the Presidential Directorate for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.
He noted that high technology is becoming ever more important in delivering joint economic projects, pointing out that this year’s forum focuses on digital sovereignty and advancing technological cooperation both bilaterally and within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Putin credited much of the progress in economic collaboration to the Russian–Kyrgyz Development Fund, which since its creation has invested over $900 million in more than 3,500 projects. With the fund’s backing, Kyrgyzstan has seen the construction of modern industrial facilities, social infrastructure, and the creation of tens of thousands of jobs across its regions and cities.
“I am confident your discussions will be substantive and productive, and that the ideas and initiatives you put forward will be translated into practical steps to further strengthen the mutually beneficial economic partnership between our countries,” Putin concluded. “I wish you success and all the best.”
