Reduction of ticket prices to Turkey for Russians in June reaches 25% compared with the May holidays, representatives of ticket aggregators surveyed by TASS.

So, round trip tickets to Turkey per person now cost an average of 38.7 thousand rubles at the travel planning service OneTwoTrip, while during the May holidays it was  48.5 thousand rubles.

"This year average cost of air tickets to Turkey is even lower than last summer: 38.7 thousand rubles for a round trip ticket per person against 39.6 thousand rubles in 2021. The average price of tickets to Turkey from Russia to fly during the May holidays (from April 30 to May 10, 2022) was 48.5 thousand rubles per person," said the head of the press service of OneTwoTrip Elena Shelekhova.

The average bill on a round trip with the service Tutu.ru is 39.2 thousand rubles, down by 23% compared to the May holidays, the press service of the company said.

According to Aviasales, the cost of tickets to Turkey in June fell by 14.9% to 22 thousand rubles, including Istanbul - by 20.2%, to 20.1 thousand rubles, to Antalya - by 7.5%, to 24.2 thousand rubles.

In this case the cost of tours to Turkey has increased in comparison with last year, said Anex Tour, Fun & Sun (former "TUI Russia"), Tez Tour and Intourist. In particular, Intourist's average cost of tours to this country increased by 55% and amounted to 62.2 thousand rubles per person against 40.1 thousand rubles in 2021. Tez Tour has increased prices for tours to Turkey by 25-30% over the year. This is primarily due to sharp fluctuations in exchange rates, as well as a limited number of options for vacationing abroad, available to Russians. The company notes that the demand exceeds supply, so the prices in all directions rise.

Tourists' preferences in Turkey

Turkey is one of the leading summer destinations in demand among Russians. According to data from aggregators, independent tourists from Russia most often go to Istanbul and Antalya. Organized tourists mostly choose trips to Antalya, as well as to Dalaman, Bodrum, Alanya, Belek, Side, Izmir and Kemer. Antalya is the most familiar destination for tourists, and there are more flights to this airport, Anex Tour explained. The main interest of Tez Tour clients falls on Belek region (32%), where premium segment hotels are concentrated.

The average duration of a trip to Turkey with Fun&Sun has not changed for the year and amounts to 9 days. Clients of Intourist this year reduced the duration of a vacation from 9 to 8 nights. About 40% of orders for Tez Tour destinations include only the ground part. Anex Tour popularity of only ground service increased to 20%. The tour operator did not notice significant changes in customer preferences, as before they mostly choose "five-star" hotels with all-inclusive or "ultra all-inclusive" meals.
