Rosatom is certain that the 2026 launch of the Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant will remain among the top priorities of the Bangladeshi leadership, regardless of the election outcome, Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom CEO, told reporters.
"The situation last year was certainly not favorable for the implementation of the project," Likhachev said. "The revolution in the country, the change in government, and the upcoming elections will undoubtedly lead to very significant adjustments in the activities of the government of Bangladesh. However, I will venture to express my confidence that the launch of the Ruppur project will not lose its priority status for the leadership of Bangladesh, no matter the outcome of the elections. This is a vital project, and we will do everything necessary to ensure its realization."
