The Russian state corporation Rosatom has introduced its energy solutions to the government of Southeast Sulawesi Province in Indonesia. The announcement was made by the corporation's press service.
On November 18, representatives of Rosatom met with officials from the Southeast Sulawesi provincial government and Indonesia's National Energy Council in Kendari. During the meeting, local authorities highlighted the region's growing demand for electricity, driven by the development of natural resource extraction and processing industries, particularly nickel ore.
Anna Belokoneva, the head of Rosatom's country office in Indonesia, presented the corporation's advanced energy technologies. Discussions also addressed the importance of fostering public acceptance of nuclear energy.
The parties agreed to continue exploring the feasibility of constructing a nuclear power plant in the province, involving both local and national authorities.
