Starting from December 11, Rosselkhoznadzor prohibits import of tomatoes and pepper from Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan to Russia after detection of the virus in products from this country, the Russian agency reports.
The Service points out that during quarantine phytosanitary control of tomatoes, received from Uzbek Sunny Land Export company (Kashkadarya region), accompanied by phytosanitary certificate, issued by National Organization for Plant Protection (NOPP) of Uzbekistan, brown wrinkle virus of tomato was detected - the object, in respect of which Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary quarantine phytosanitary measure.
"With a view of preservation of phytosanitary well-being and prevention of distribution of the mentioned object on the territory of the Russian Federation, Rosselkhoznadzor on December 11, 2020, introduces a ban on import of tomatoes and pepper from Kashkadarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Russia", the department adds. Rosselkhoznadzor reminds that earlier the Service introduced a ban on the import of tomatoes and peppers due to the discovery of brown wrinkle virus in the products of tomato fruits from two other regions of Uzbekistan - from Ferghana region (from November 26) and from Navoi region (from December 4).
