Russia's agricultural exports to Turkey reached approximately $2.4 billion between January and September 2025, according to Ilya Ilyushin, head of the Agroexport Federal Center.
“Over the nine months of 2025, Russia supplied Turkey with agricultural products worth about $2.4 billion, led by grains and oilseed products,” Ilyushin stated. “The trend shows steady growth: from 2018 to 2024, Russian exports to Turkey increased by 85%, reaching a record $5 billion in 2022.”
Sunflower oil emerged as the key driver in 2025, with shipments exceeding 740,000 tons valued at over $840 million—a 24% increase in volume and 70% in value compared to the same period last year.
Oilseed meals and cakes accounted for approximately 8% of total export revenue during this period. Grains—including wheat, corn, barley, and buckwheat—remained a stable export segment, contributing about 31% of export earnings. Wheat and corn bran exports also saw strong demand, reaching nearly $238 million, a 37% year-on-year increase.
Pulses maintained their popularity, with Russia exporting around 400,000 tons of peas, chickpeas, and lentils to Turkey, valued at over $180 million.
“Russia and Turkey continue to develop mutually beneficial supplies and strengthen food security cooperation, creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries,” Ilyushin emphasized.
