Russia lifted the ban on the import of tomatoes from eight Azerbaijani enterprises

23 March 2021

Since March 24, Rosselkhoznadzor has allowed the import of tomatoes from eight more Azerbaijani enterprises into Russia, according to a statement on the website of the authority.

"Rosselkhoznadzor allows import of tomatoes from eight Azerbaijani enterprises into Russia starting March 24, 2021. The decision is based on results of phytosanitary quarantine examination of samples taken during joint video inspections, as well as guarantees of food safety agency of Azerbaijan Republic," the statement reads.

Starting from December 10, Rosselkhoznadzor banned the import of tomatoes and apples from Azerbaijan to Russia. The ban was explained by the continued supply of Azerbaijani products with pests: South American tomato moth and Oriental moth. Then deliveries from a number of enterprises were allowed again.
