Russia has been included among Indonesia’s 15 strategically important countries for tourism development for the 2025–2026 period, Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism announced, as reported by ANTARA News.
According to ministry data, Indonesia welcomed 178,434 visitors from Russia in 2025, marking a record increase of nearly 30 percent compared with the previous year. Firnandi Gufron, Assistant Deputy Minister for Tourism Marketing Strategy and Communications, said the growth of tourist flow from Russia “should be maximized to its full potential.”
The ministry noted that Malaysia remains the leading source of foreign visitors to Indonesia, followed by Singapore, Australia, China, India and Japan, with the United States rounding out the list of top markets.
