Russia is set to expand its footprint in the Saudi Arabian halal market, Anton Alikhanov, Russia’s Minister of Industry and Trade, said during the "INNOPROM. Saudi Arabia" international exhibition in Riyadh.
While acknowledging that grain currently constitutes the bulk of Russia's agricultural exports to the Kingdom, Alikhanov highlighted the growing potential of the livestock sector. "We have a number of companies specializing in beef and mutton that already hold the necessary halal certifications," the minister noted. "Our goal is to actively promote these high-quality meat products within the Saudi market."
The minister added that the Russian Export Center (REC) is preparing to host the "Made in Russia" forum in Saudi Arabia this coming spring to promote halal products.
