Rospotrebnadzor will suspend the import of Turkish tangerines from October 29 because of the harmful substances they contain, according to the website of the agency.
"Residual amounts of the Chlorpyrifos pesticide were found in the mentioned tangerines, the concentration of which exceeds the maximum permissible level," the publication says.
The measure is intended to prevent the spread of the infection. The situation is under control of the service.
Previously, the import of low-quality citrus fruits from Turkey has been repeatedly banned by Rosselkhoznadzor. Thus, at the end of 2018, it had to stop the supply of fruit infected with the Mediterranean fruit fly.
In September of this year, Russian experts found viruses in imported fruit and tomatoes from Turkey, and Ankara was offered to strengthen phytocontrol.
