08 December

Trade between Russia and Indonesia grew by almost 18% in the first ten months of the year, reaching $3.6 billion, with industrial goods accounting for around 40% of that total, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov said.

“Over the past five years, trade between our countries has increased by 80%, reaching $4.3 billion in 2024. The positive trend continues: from January to October 2025, bilateral trade rose by nearly 18% to $3.6 billion. Notably, industrial products make up about 40% of that volume,” Alikhanov said, according to the ministry’s statement summarizing his meeting with Indonesia’s Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the two countries’ trade and economic ties continue to show steady growth.

Russia and Indonesia are implementing several joint cooperation and investment projects. Russia exports mineral products, foodstuffs, and goods from the chemical and metallurgical sectors to Indonesia. In return, Indonesia supplies Russia with in-demand chemical and light-industry products, alumina, foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials.
